Would you believe that Elle Fanning is only *drumroll* thirteen years old? Sigh. Kids these days are lucky. When I was thirteen all my everyday staple were tshirts, jeans and rubber shoes. I've got this horribly messy and flat hair and I don't even know what lipstick means. Well, I blame it to the internet. During my younger years we did not have an unlimited internet connection, so I wasn't a frequent internet user. Didn't have any idea na may iba pa palang klaseng top bukod sa Tshirt. Haha.

Anyway, going back to Elle. Aside from the fact that I'm jealous of her early fashion awareness, I love her! She's so charming and talented!

Such a darling! Edi ikaw na ang may blue eyes!

I watched an interview of her and I must say that my impression has changed. She's thirteen on the face but she speaks like twenty! I really look forward to her future projects and I hope she won't end up like Taylor Momsen/Linday Lohan when she gets older.

Elle Fanning, you already!

I am Facebook-free since December 30. (You bet that rhymes.) If you’d ask me why, I’d tell you this: Because I’m not getting any good out of it; except from the fact that it allows me to be connected with my friends and relatives, of course. That’s the real purpose the Social Network if I’m not mistaken. But now? I’m not sure anymore.

Because of Facebook, people can now share a photo of their newly manicured nails. Or bag. Or girlfriend. They can also let all their friends know what time they took a bath. All of these are unworthy of 70 likes and ten comments ---before Facebook happened.

Before Facebook..
people hated when other people eavesdrop on their conversations. But now we all post it publicly, letting other people read the whole thread of it.
we were camera-shy! Didn’t we all get conscious when people see our photos in our good ol’ photo album taken by our handy analog cameras?
whether we were feeling hungry, hot or sleepy, these thoughts were just kept to ourselves. Not to the whole six hundred friends that can read everything that we say.
stalking was a difficult job.
I couldn’t remember what I was doing. Probably watching MTv, Dao Ming Xi or Ghost Fighter.

But before you guys raise your eyebrows, please see above that I used “we”. I am part of the “people”. In fact that’s my reason why I decided to deactivate my account indefinitely. I got so saturated with everything that I see every time I log in.
I don’t need to know that they broke up and got back together in a span of two hours. I don’t want to see a picture of a poor dead fetus. And who needs to see an entire album of your face while on your way to the mall?
Yes, I could just log out and not come back but I was very narcissistic that I couldn’t help but check if one of my photos or status gets a Like. I know! Vain alert! And haven’t you noticed, there are sooooo many sluts on Facebook nowadays? Eeep. Gross alert.

Of course it’s fun. It always feels good to be connected. But for now, I want to experience life without a big chunk of my internet life away from me. I want to refresh my mind on what I used to do when social network isn’t one of my addictions. I want to really connect with people in a more personal way like actually talking to them. I don’t want them knowing that The Notebook is one of my favourite movie because they saw it on Facebook.

Oh well. I’m just gonna stay away from it for as long as I can.

P.S. Somebody needs to remind me when are my friends' birthdays coming up.
