I am HD

"earlier this morning i was complaining about my feet being itchy. this afternoon i met a man who lost his leg. he greeted me with a smile and was joking with his doctor."

-Angelina Jolie-

words spoken so well by my favorite Hollywood celebrity, Angelina Jolie. Realization is now coming into my head after i've read this. A lot of things happening to my life everyday have just come to pass without my appreciation. All that's heard from me are whines and complaints. But now I've learned the noble value of contentment and appreciation.

  • Last Tuesday, i was complaining to my mom because i cannot find a pretty dress to buy at the mall until i saw this family who has no money to buy their children some candies from Candy Corner.
  • I hate the jam-packed bus that i ride into every school days yet, now I am thankful that i have the money to ride in an air-conditioned one.
  • I was protesting for a new phone until I saw my friend's fixed-together-by-scotch-tape cellphone.
  • There would always be sleepless nights when I think about the things I dislike about my parents yet a lot of children out there doesn't even have one to call mom.
Sometimes, we just don't appreciate the things that we have in our lives...until God takes it away. 2007 is a package of God's challenges and blessings for us. It surely was a tough year for me, but then I learned to be thankful to Him. I've learned to look at the brighter side of life. Though 2007 was full of setbacks and trials, a lot of great great things came into my life too.. and that's all worth thanking for.

"Life is a matter of perspective. Either you complain because roses have thorns..or rejoice because thorns have roses."

4days to go before Christmas. :)
Honestly, I haven't felt yet the Christmas season until last wednesday. It's maybe because of the busy schedule. I'm not used to make Christmas lists and wishes. Pero ngayon, i decided to make one..

This Christmas..

I want a new phone.
cellphone will be the last thing that my parents would buy for me. For my parents, cellphone = waste of money.

I want to have peace.
sounds like a miss-universe-won-the-title-for-wishing-world-peace cliche. But seriously, I do want peace. I do want world peace, but even peace within our family, neighborhood and workplace would be enough to make our lives happy, right?

I wish my parents understand me.
well, like so many of us, i am having a sort of miscommunication with my parents. i am close with my mom, but then... she still doesn't know the real me. She doesn't even know half the things about me. I wish i could open things to them, coz parents are always the best secret keepers in town.

I wish courage from God
i can't pluck up the courage to do a lot of things that i want to do. hey don't get me wrong, coz i am not pertaining about crazy stuffs here! these are just the things that i am fond of like traveling, photography, going to car shows, being active in church ministries, and a whooole lot more! i haven't tried all these beautiful things that the world can offer! i hate myself coz i feel that i'm wasting my life. i'm just here, sitting around and just doing the usual stuff. it's not that i dont want to study; i want to turn a new leaf even if that means getting out of my comfort zone.

I want to get focused on my studies.
if i don't study well, i wouldn't be able to do these things that i want to do. :) And that's also one way of paying back to everything that my parents has sacrificed for me.

what about your Christmas wish?
of course, it's not only wishing .. it's also praying.

the whole sense of Christmas is not getting all the things that we want. It's the day that our Savior was born to redeem us. For me, that alone is worth more than all my granted wishes.

Let us not forget that.

Merry Christmas!
take care,
'dy.

MR. BadLuck had been so generous to me this morning that he gave me a lot of perks to keep.

  • i went to ust this morning to meet our president because we have to do the script in our RC play on feb. our call time was 8:30am. i left the house at 6:45 am. pumila ako sa terminal ng 7am. gosh! we all waited there till the peak of the rush hour approached. yet .. walang sasakyang dumating! the heck! i stood there, so rooted and cold for nothing! i did not wait any longer coz it's already 8am in my watch. so diniskartehan ko nalang ung way para makapuntang manila.

  • if there is a possibility that a bus could explode due to overload, all the bus in cavite would probably been ashed this morning. damn! it's so full. ayaw na nila magsakay. thank God, a not-so-overloaded bus came up to overload the vehicle by some more passengers. i budged and squeezed myself in there. bumaba nalang ako sa lrt, edsa station.

  • i feel so crazy and lost when i arrived in the station. it was so jam-packed with people kaya sobrang traffic sa hagdan. it's just good (it couldn't get any better) that i bought a backpack so i am not holding anything. i could really imagine myself from other's point of view. haha. im so wasted already, i walked so slow, my posture was so weak. and i am just staring at the space (if there's any space left). if ever a pickpocket grabbed something from my bag, i would barely have noticed coz i was so freaking tired! errrgh.
thanks to God, nakarating na ko sa UN station. but Mr. Bad Luck still has his last freebie to give for the completion of my worst morning.

  • i do not have enough coins para makapag fx papuntang ust, so i just took a jeepney. i was looking out of the window when another jeepney bursted out its smoky, yucky and suffocating smoke .... at my bare FACE! damn it! my face was so rough and so wasted!

i doubt if i could stand another day worse than that.. and blimey, i'm just in my freshman year! i shudder to think what's going to happen next!

i hope these wont happen to you. :(
ALWAYS take care!

ang dami kong gustong sabihin sa blog ko, i just can't update it because the past week had been a busy one.

ano nga ba mga nangyari ngayong week?

Tuesday:
-Miss. G shared a story to us. some people really has this klepto tendency.

Wednesday:
-grabe magalit c Sir Agbayani. he really has some mood swings!
-our experiment was boring: Titration. we really have to be careful for every drop. grabe. buti nalang i was not the one assigned to do the formal report about it.

Thursday:
-it was a long RC period. We had two quizzes, and interesting discussions about the current events and about Rizal. I liked it! Wilhelmsfeld and Heidelberg!
-i was so careless in answering our quiz in trigo. I shaded the 2 wrong items, and it was a no-erasure type of quiz. and each item was worth 2 points. sayang talaga!

Friday:
-ang haaaaba ng Chem! bat ganun. buti nalang puro equations para ubos sa oras na din.
-no geom
-it was an interesting AutoCAd lesson. buti nalang madami na kong natutunan ngayon sa AutoCAD! Thanks to Sir Vicente! Hello, Mam! :) hehe.

..... SEXY BACK ......
nauseous. shocked.
tc.

wala lang. it was my first time na sumakay sa LRT ever since birth.
inosente nu? hehe. d naman kc ako taga-Manila talaga.
and everytime we go to the city, hndi kme ngcocomute.
ngaun nalang ako natuto mag-isa sa Manila .

leaving my comfort zone has allowed me to learn new things in life..
  • when i was in high school, i dont know where the heck is Talaba! i don't know half of the places we've been to. Hndi ko alam kung saan kami nadaan. I would just comfortably sit in our car until we reach our destination. now, i know lahat ng nadadaanan ko. I have to know it kc it's hard to be an idiot in Manila. People will fool you.
  • I dont know Cubao, Greenhills, Recto, Mendiola, Dapitan, Edsa, and Fairview ... before!
  • The Project 3, 4, 6,8, and whatever the project number is, are the places i've heard just through eavesdrop. the heck, i don't care where are those places. well. now, i'm free from the long years of ignorance.
learning is not complete without a bunch of struggles ..
  • dte, a 1hour trip is already an out of town trip for our family. but now, an hour of trip is an everyday back-and-forth journey to school!
  • dte din, i am not used to walk and walk para makauwi. pa-para lang ako ng jeep sa harap ng bahay namin at sa harap ng statefields, then voila, makakauwi na ko. pero ngaun, i have to walk and walk bago pa ko makasakay ng bus.
  • ngaun ko lang din naexperience na makipag-patintero sa mga kaskaserong drivers in the middle of the streets of Lawton para lang makauwi.
  • my first feet-baptism-while-still-wearing-socks-and-shoes:with the dirty and slimy flooded streets of Lawton and Espana.
  • Umbrella has been a fixture inside my bag for about 7months already.
  • My flip flops has found her new home: my locker .. the thing i can count on, in cases that i have to get soaked again :)
  • 7months ago, i told myself that riding the bus standing is my very last option. 6months later .."makasakay lang ako ng bus, okay na."
  • dte, i would eat my lunch sa ust. but now, i'm eating my lunch while i'm on my way home.
It sounds tough. Yes, I admit it is tough ... at first. Once nasanay na ung katawan namin, parang statefields nalang din ang layo ng Manila from Cavite. My English teacher would always tell:

"now you are free from your 16 years of ignorance"

as a one-liner. But it strikes me so directly that i don't take it already as a joke.

I'm experiencing these endeavors in exchange to quality education from ust. It's worth the pain! I really have to get out of my comfort zone.. to learn and explore the tough side of life. wherever you are .. take care always! :) God Bless.
