SEVENTEEN

It seems just a week ago when people were greeting me for my 16th birthday. yet now, i am already 17.

I thank GOD for the great life He's blessed me with. His love is forever unconditional. i could not ask for more. all i want to do is give Him the all the praises.

My family is here for me. always.. i owe them this life. i love them. i thank them.

Thank you debbie and eric for being part of my birthday for five years already. be with me when i turn 35. :)

It'll be a heinous crime if ghel will skip feb17 for another special day. :P thanks for not skipping my day, beybeh.

All the people i've been with when i was in high school.. thank you! i so miss everyone.

i'm one year older now. time flies so fast. we'll never notice that we're celebrating our 25th, 55th or 75th birthday already. aw! let's enjoy every moment. we'll never know if God will allow us to celebrate our next birthdays in-line.

meet my pet peeves

1. truck drivers and tambay people who whistles and calls me for nothing. Get a life!
2. when i studied so hard in vain. Our theology exam was a recent example of this.
3. Those people who sing their own praises.. i’m sorry but you are not gonna get any praise from me as you’ve sang so well for yourselves already ;)
4. SMUGS!
5. social climbers. Nakakainis sila! As if they’d look so cool when they try be like the “Meangirls”
6. a downright lie in front of my face.
7. crowded places. It suffocates me so much that I want to knock-off the people around me just to give me some space!
8. whenever I’m in the middle of satisfaction in using the computer then my brother would try take it away from me.
9. when someone is watching me write my blog.
10. mga feeling-gwapo.
11. Cholo Villanueva of DLSU Green Archers. pardon me Lasallians. I just don’t like this player, especially last season.
12. whenever i see a “bakaw” play basketball. You have teammates, dude. Play with them.
13. inking a circle.
14. procrastination. (especially when i’m the one who procrastinates)
15. being on a rush.
16. Zaido! This show is a crap!
17. corny visual and special effects.
18. over-sentimental lines. These lines do not give me even the slightest ‘kilig’ feeling but the nauseous one.

I'M LEAVING ALL THE BAD THINGS BEHIND

Happy New Year!!

I cannot believe time flies so fast! it seems just yesterday when we were having this new year's eve celebration for 2007.. yet now.. it's already 2008. whoa. we really get to grow old fast.

2007 was really a greaaaat year for me. It's not only filled with happy memories.. it was damn filled with sad ones too, it's more of the not-so-happy-ones actually. This year came in a package.

2007 was full of pressure.. as a graduating student, a lot of pressure was put on our aching backs.. investigatory studies, projects, videos and a whole more requirements for graduation... the thing which i was most scared of.

i was not ready to detach myself from my friends that never left me for the past 4 years. i wasn't ready to dettach myself from high school. promenade, senior's party and graduation all came this 2007. high school life seemed too good to last.

the package contained the college pack in it. there had been a lot of adjustments and shock. seems that i cannot adopt with the new environment easily. UST was a tough battle ground. Difficult lessons and pressuring syllabus from our brilliant professors welcomed us. Yet, it was still fun. i've met new persons and friends. My being Thomasian started this 2007.

Hence.. this year ended with so much beginnings.
It's just the beginning of tougher challenges that awaits me.
it's the beginning of a new friendship that's starting to blossom within our block.
It's a beginning of leaving all the bad things that had happened to me.. and surely, I ain't bringing it back.

Whatever it is, i am ready.. GoD will always be with me. I trust Him.

Happy New Year!!

LIFE IS A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE

"earlier this morning i was complaining about my feet being itchy. this afternoon i met a man who lost his leg. he greeted me with a smile and was joking with his doctor."

-Angelina Jolie-

words spoken so well by my favorite Hollywood celebrity, Angelina Jolie. Realization is now coming into my head after i've read this. A lot of things happening to my life everyday have just come to pass without my appreciation. All that's heard from me are whines and complaints. But now I've learned the noble value of contentment and appreciation.

  • Last Tuesday, i was complaining to my mom because i cannot find a pretty dress to buy at the mall until i saw this family who has no money to buy their children some candies from Candy Corner.
  • I hate the jam-packed bus that i ride into every school days yet, now I am thankful that i have the money to ride in an air-conditioned one.
  • I was protesting for a new phone until I saw my friend's fixed-together-by-scotch-tape cellphone.
  • There would always be sleepless nights when I think about the things I dislike about my parents yet a lot of children out there doesn't even have one to call mom.
Sometimes, we just don't appreciate the things that we have in our lives...until God takes it away. 2007 is a package of God's challenges and blessings for us. It surely was a tough year for me, but then I learned to be thankful to Him. I've learned to look at the brighter side of life. Though 2007 was full of setbacks and trials, a lot of great great things came into my life too.. and that's all worth thanking for.

"Life is a matter of perspective. Either you complain because roses have thorns..or rejoice because thorns have roses."

all i want for christmas

4days to go before Christmas. :)
Honestly, I haven't felt yet the Christmas season until last wednesday. It's maybe because of the busy schedule. I'm not used to make Christmas lists and wishes. Pero ngayon, i decided to make one..

This Christmas..

I want a new phone.
cellphone will be the last thing that my parents would buy for me. For my parents, cellphone = waste of money.

I want to have peace.
sounds like a miss-universe-won-the-title-for-wishing-world-peace cliche. But seriously, I do want peace. I do want world peace, but even peace within our family, neighborhood and workplace would be enough to make our lives happy, right?

I wish my parents understand me.
well, like so many of us, i am having a sort of miscommunication with my parents. i am close with my mom, but then... she still doesn't know the real me. She doesn't even know half the things about me. I wish i could open things to them, coz parents are always the best secret keepers in town.

I wish courage from God
i can't pluck up the courage to do a lot of things that i want to do. hey don't get me wrong, coz i am not pertaining about crazy stuffs here! these are just the things that i am fond of like traveling, photography, going to car shows, being active in church ministries, and a whooole lot more! i haven't tried all these beautiful things that the world can offer! i hate myself coz i feel that i'm wasting my life. i'm just here, sitting around and just doing the usual stuff. it's not that i dont want to study; i want to turn a new leaf even if that means getting out of my comfort zone.

I want to get focused on my studies.
if i don't study well, i wouldn't be able to do these things that i want to do. :) And that's also one way of paying back to everything that my parents has sacrificed for me.

what about your Christmas wish?
of course, it's not only wishing .. it's also praying.

the whole sense of Christmas is not getting all the things that we want. It's the day that our Savior was born to redeem us. For me, that alone is worth more than all my granted wishes.

Let us not forget that.

Merry Christmas!
take care,
'dy.
